Where does the public search begin?

You can look up health professionals and pharmacies free of charge through Missouri's MOPRO licence search. The state board pages linked to it at the October 1, 2026 check.

MOPRO is the state's online licensing portal. Open it from a board page and match the name with the profession.

The medical and pharmacy boards also publish disciplinary-action lists, as recorded in that October 2026 check.

Which board covers which role?

In the October 1, 2026 Missouri review, the Healing Arts board licensed doctors and physician assistants; the Nursing board licensed nurses, including nurse practitioners.

Pharmacy permits and pharmacist licences belonged to the Missouri Board of Pharmacy in that same review.

Nurse practitioners have training beyond their initial nursing education. Ask what role the named person will have in your care.

What does collaboration mean here?

A Missouri nurse practitioner or physician assistant needs a written agreement with a doctor before prescribing, under the rules checked October 1, 2026. This is called a collaboration agreement. The doctor must regularly review some patient records.

Ask which doctor shares responsibility for the care. Will that doctor see you, review your proposed medicine or answer questions? Ask how this will work for your visit.

What about a pharmacy in another state?

For routine Missouri-bound shipments, the October 1, 2026 rule required pharmacies elsewhere to have Missouri licensing and a home-state licence in good standing.

Ask for the pharmacy name early. Compare that name with the prescription paperwork and the label.
